Research Grant Announcements, 23 February 2016
Since its launch in July 2014, UC CIRI has run a series of highly successful seminar and networking events and this was followed in 2015 by a call for applications under the UC CIRI Research Grant Scheme. The UC CIRI Research Grant Scheme seeks to grow Indigenous research capacity at UC and to provide seed funding to projects that will generate outcomes with tangible benefits for Indigenous communities. Particular emphasis is given to providing opportunities for Indigenous researchers and Indigenous post-graduate students.
The application process for the first round of grants was finalised in January 2016 and the successful projects announced at this event.
The Project Leaders for each of the successful projects gave a brief talk on their project and on the planned outcomes. After the formal proceedings attendees were able to talk to the Project Leaders more in depth about their projects.
