Title | Health, biodiversity, and the environment |
---|---|
Description | We have created a world in which human affairs, well-being and health appears to operate separately to the natural world. However, in the 21st century we are also aware that the natural world is under enormous pressure and that we are heading towards an uncertain future. In this session we will discuss how our health is linked to biodiversity and the environment and understand one framework, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (2015-2030), that has been developed to help all nations navigate a sustainable and healthy future. For many young people the prospect of a dystopic future is deeply troubling. While these issues are very real they are also being addressed. The aim of this session is to present some of this knowledge and its application in a way to empower students to see and contribute to a positive future. |
